Tree Services
The Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District's Conservation Tree Program offers a variety of services to landowners interested in planning
windbreaks, woodlots, or improved wildlife habitat on their property.
These include the sale of conservation tree and shrub seedlings, tree planting and chemical weed control spraying service, weed barrier
mats, and water conversation mulch and installation. The costs of these services are as follows.
TREE AND SHRUB SEEDLINGS
- Seedlings cost $16.00 for a bundle of 25
- After January 1 - $18.00 for a bundle of 25
- Each species must be ordered in lots of 25
MACHINE PLANTING SERVICE
- There is a charge of $0.55 / seedling
- There is a minimum planting charge of $200.00 per project
CHEMICAL WEED CONTROL
- There is a charge of $2.00 / 100 linear feet of tree planting row.
- The NRD offers the chemical weed control service only as a part of their machine planting service.
WATER CONSERVATION MULCH
- Water conservation mulch is sold in either 300' or 500' lengths. The cost is $108.00 for a 300' roll and $180.00 for a 500' roll.
- The LENRD does not offer an installation service for the mulch. Contact your local NRCS office for information on installation contractors.
WEED BARRIER MATS
- Weed Barrier Mats cost $35.00 for a bundle of 25 mats.
- Weed barrier mats must be ordered in lots of 25.
