In accordance with Section 84-1408 through 84-1414, Nebraska Rev. Stat., the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District Board of Directors will hold a Public Meeting on Thursday, September 11, 2025 for a Board of Director’s Budget Meeting following the 7:00 p.m. Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Hearing and Special Hearing to Set Tax Request, at the Lower Elkhorn NRD, 1508 Square Turn Blvd, Norfolk, Nebraska. An agenda of the items to be considered at such time and place is kept continually current and available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Lower Elkhorn NRD, 1508 Square Turn Blvd., Norfolk, NE 402-371-7313, or at the district’s web site: www.lenrd.org.

PUBLIC NOTICE - USDA NRCS OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT: DRAFT WATERSHED PLAN, NORTH FORK ELKHORN RIVER, ANTELOPE, CEDAR, KNOX & PIERCE COUNTIES, NEBRASKA
LINCOLN, Neb., Sept. 5, 2025 – USDA’S Natural Resources Conservation Service is soliciting comments on a draft Watershed Plan. The North Fork Elkhorn River Watershed Plan in Antelope, Cedar, Knox & Pierce Counties, Nebraska, in partnership with the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District, analyzes measures for flood prevention (flood damage reduction) through the Pub. L. 83-566 Small Watershed Program’s authorized purpose of flood prevention. The preferred alternative in the plan includes construction of two diversion channels, stormwater pump stations, and levee improvements in and near the City of Pierce, along with a road raise, berm, and nonstructural improvements in and near the City of Osmond. The draft Watershed Plan and related documents are available for public review and comments from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2025, at www.nrcs.usda.gov/state-offices/nebraska/projects-ready-for-public-comment-and-reviewand at the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District located at 1508 Square Turn Boulevard, Norfolk, NE 68701 during normal business hours.
